Receive money
Who moves the money, and who answers for it
A transfer passes through several banks and networks. We work with established payment partners, and you only ever deal with us.
Who does what
| Stage | Handled by |
|---|---|
| Your quote and the checks on your transfer | SendGram |
| Collecting your payment | Our payment partner |
| Converting pounds to naira | Our payment partner |
| Paying the Nigerian bank | Our payment partner, over Nigeria's interbank network |
| Your status updates, refunds and support | SendGram |
What we keep for ourselves
Our own checks
We screen every transfer ourselves, whatever checks a partner also runs.
Our own records
We keep our own ledger of every transfer and match it against our partners' records.
Our own answers
If a bank is slow, we say so. You should not need to know how the chain works to get a straight answer.
If a receiving bank is down
When a Nigerian bank is not responding, we keep retrying for up to two hours and tell you the bank is the cause. If the payment still cannot go through, the transfer fails and your refund starts automatically.
