How we keep transfers safe
Moving money across borders comes with real responsibilities. Here is what we check, and what that means for you.
What we do
Verify every sender
We check a government photo ID and a live selfie before you send, and your address for higher limits.
Confirm every recipient
We look up the name the bank holds, and that name is used on the transfer.
Screen every transfer
We run sanctions screening and watch for unusual activity, separately from our partners.
Warn you about scams
If you are paying for an investment, a property deposit or goods, we warn you about common scams before you pay.
Accept your own money only
Payments must come from an account in your name, which protects you and helps stop fraud.
Protect your data
We keep identity records securely, and only for as long as the law requires.
Verification levels and limits
You start at Level 1 and only need to do more when you want a higher limit. Limits appear in the app before they apply.
| Level | What you provide | Per transfer | 30 days | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Email, phone, photo ID and a selfie | £500 | £1,000 | £3,000 |
| Level 2 | Level 1 plus proof of address | £5,000 | £15,000 | £50,000 |
| Level 3 | Level 2 plus evidence of your source of funds | £25,000 | £75,000 | Reviewed case by case |
When a transfer needs an extra check
Sometimes we review a transfer before it continues. You will see this as "Extra check" in the app. We will ask if we need anything from you.
By law, we cannot always share the reason for a review.
